Scientific computing and information processing are undergoing a revolution driven by the vision of information grids that enable access to unprecedented computing power and functionality. Information grids promise to transparently deliver to their users the services of thousands of diverse interconnected computers, geographically distributed software applications and other network-accessible resources (e.g. storage). Computer scientists and engineers from the University of Florida are actively engaged in several synergistic research efforts on the design, engineering and applications of information grids.
