ACIS welcomes UF SSTP student Preethi Venkataraman

Each Summer semester the ACIS lab hosts a student through the UF SSTP program. This year Ms. Preethi Venkataraman participated in research projects at the lab.

UF SSTP is a seven-week residential research participation program for students entering grade 12 interested in pursuing a career in science, math, engineering, or medicine. The program offers motivated students a unique opportunity to participate in the ongoing research of faculty mentor’s lab, engage in faculty lectures and enroll in a UF Honor’s Program seminar course with the opportunity to earn up to six dual enrollment credits. UF SSTP is an academically rigorous and comprehensive program where students develop leadership, time management, and organizational skills that well prepare them for success in higher education. Counselors support participants throughout the program providing academic feedback, assisting in the transition to campus-living, and providing supervision. Service learning, field trips, and social activities round out the program experience.
