Congratulations Dr. Yonggang Liu!

Dr. Liu recently completed his PhD studies under the supervision of Dr. Renato Figueiredo, in the Advanced Computing and Information Systems (ACIS) lab. His research interests include parallel file systems, I/O scheduling, simulations, P2P systems and computer architecture. He is the author of the parallel file system simulator PFSSim (https://github.com/myidpt/PFSsim). Dr. Liu has accepted a position with Google Inc. and will begin working as a Software Engineer this month.

ACIS Welcomes Wenyi Qian for the Summer


Wenyi Qian, a Ph.D. student from Fudan University, is visiting the ACIS lab as part of a US/China collaborative EAGER research project funded by the NSF and NSF-C. His research considers the integration of Web services with social networks, and the collaboration with ACIS investigates the use of the SocialVPN virtual network to seamlessly create links among mobile devices and computers of users and their friends in other to share services within a social circle.
