Research Assistant positions available at ACIS

Attention all ECE and CISE PhD students.

The Advanced Computing and Information Systems (ACIS) Laboratory is looking for multiple highly skilled and motivated Ph.D. students to work as research assistants with Dr. José Fortes. This job will entail research work on one of the following projects funded by the National Science Foundation: iDigBio, or PRAGMA. These projects involve collaboration with US and international institutions, and students will have opportunities to interact with both UF and external researchers.

IPOP project selected as a mentoring organizations for the 2015 Google Summer of Code.

The IPOP project was selected as one of the 137 mentoring organizations for the 2015 Google Summer of Code. Google Summer of Code is a global program that offers students stipends to write code for open source projects.

ACIS Welcomes Wenyi Qian for the Summer

Wenyi Qian, a Ph.D. student from Fudan University, is visiting the ACIS lab as part of a US/China collaborative EAGER research project funded by the NSF and NSF-C. His research considers the integration of Web services with social networks, and the collaboration with ACIS investigates the use of the SocialVPN virtual network to seamlessly create links among mobile devices and computers of users and their friends in other to share services within a social circle.
