Catherine Parsons is the the Administrative Assistant to Dr. José A.B Fortes, Professor, AT&T Eminent Scholar and Founder of the ACIS Laboratory in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Responsibilities:
•Meeting coordination through calendar management (Outlook and Google), Zoom meeting scheduling, polls, reserving conference rooms and ordering catering.
•Utilizing computer skills such as WordPress website administration, Wiki administration, UF Listserv, Microsoft Office (OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Teams), Adobe, Slack and ORCID.
•PCard holder: Completing all purchasing for the ACIS Laboratory including computer hardware & software, office supplies, conference registrations & posters, Travel in UFGO and professional membership renewals.
•Providing academic support such as assistance with the ECE Faculty Recruitment committee, placement of ECE Faculty recruitment ads in national magazines, and establishing UF visitor itineraries.
•Onboarding new lab members by ordering keys, setting up workstations and adding to bios to the WordPress website.
•(Past Project) Contributing to research projects by entering data, obtaining an IRB study coordinator role on NSF research project, and recording minutes of weekly research meetings.
